ROBIN LEVY

A JEW A BOOK AND A BENCH (in response to January 6 United States Capitol attack), 2022. Sitting on a Nazi Era bench, (imported from France), reading Hitler's American Model: the United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law, by James Q. Whitman. Beside me are posters with oral histories of the yellow benches Nazis installed in public spaces to segregate Jews.

ABOUT

“I create discreet work that pushes towards a deeper understanding of our complicated world. With a practice spanning over four decades, I strive to make projects that originate from a highly personal place, transforming them into collective experiences. By translating the experiential into material, I aim to mitigate the impact of human bias on our psyches and relationships and create offerings that epromote forming deep meaningful bonds. In the studio I create systems I can control in response to those I can’t— from this urgency comes agency.”
